Downtown building gets a sparkling new floor

One downtown building is in the middle of a makeover. At the corner of San Benito and Fourth Street, K&S Property maintenance has been working for weeks on installing new flooring in an office space used by Community Solutions, a tax preparer and others.

Using his truck as a table, Carl Lollar of K&S, cut tiles before spacing them out in the hallway and lobby of the building. Then he spread mud along the bottom of each tile before laying it down on the ground. Once the tile is set down, the job isn't finished as it still needs to be grouted and then sealed.

When it is completed, the lobby of the K&S building will be just a little brighter.
